A Communist Party newspaper in Cuba published a long article on Wednesday targeting President Barack Obama and demanding that the United States government stop meddling with Cuba’s affairs.
Obama’s visit will mark the 15 month-anniversary since he and Castro decided to end the decades-lasting Cold War-era tiff and try to restore diplomatic relations.
Since that gathering, Obama has let a lot of the trade embargoes and travel restrictions go, even to the point that both parties have been questioning Obama’s generosity, saying that such a move wouldn’t secure reciprocity.
Now, here we are confirming those concerns. Clearly, there is continual resentment on the part of Cuba in the general direction of their northern neighbors, which is unsurprising given the length of trade embargo as compared to the length of the diplomatic reach-out.
Obama has attempted to block the embargo in its entirety, but, fortunately, the GOP leaders in Congress shot the proposal down.
